The ADCA course (full form: Advanced Diploma in Computer Application) at IPA is a 6-month to 1-year office computing diploma: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, typing, internet, Tally Prime, BUSY, HTML and database basics. It is taught online and at IPA – Institute of Professional Accountants, Laxmi Nagar (since 2003), for people who need to be productive at an office computer, not for those aiming to become software developers.
Many office jobs now assume you can type accurately, format a document, keep a spreadsheet, manage email and enter invoices in accounting software. Candidates who have only used a phone often struggle with these on day one. The ADCA computer course covers them in one diploma.
ADCA full form and meaning
ADCA stands for Advanced Diploma in Computer Application (ADCA ka full form). “Application” refers to application software, the programs an office runs every day: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, email, and accounting software such as Tally Prime and BUSY. “Advanced” sets it apart from the DCA, the Diploma in Computer Application, which is usually shorter. So ADCA is a computer course for office work, not a programming degree. It is also called “computer ADCA” or the “ADCA computer course”; it is the same diploma. At IPA it takes 6 months to 1 year and is open after 10th.

Who can join the ADCA course?
ADCA is one of the few IPA programmes open after 10th, and it suits people at almost any starting point with computers.
A good fit if you are
- A 10th or 12th pass student from any stream who wants employable computer skills before, or alongside, further study.
- A graduate whose degree did not include practical computer training.
- A job seeker aiming at computer operator, office assistant or back-office roles.
- A working professional who wants to become faster and more confident with office software; weekday and weekend batches, with morning and evening timings, help.
Probably not the right fit if you
- Want to become a programmer. ADCA teaches HTML basics only; a degree or a dedicated programming course is the right route.
- Want a career in accounts. An accounting diploma such as the 6-month diploma goes much deeper into GST, TDS and payroll.
- Only need typing and data entry. The data entry operator course can be completed faster.
ADCA course syllabus: module by module

What you can do after ADCA
You should be able to handle the everyday computer work of an office without needing help:
- Manage files and folders, and use the operating system efficiently.
- Type quickly and accurately, including numeric and alphanumeric data.
- Draft and format letters, reports and forms in MS Word.
- Maintain spreadsheets in MS Excel with formulas, sorting and basic calculations, and use an AI assistant to draft a formula or tidy a list, checking the result yourself, because it doesn’t always get it right.
- Prepare simple presentations in PowerPoint.
- Send and organise professional email and handle data online.
- Enter vouchers and invoices in Tally Prime or BUSY.
- Organise records in a simple database and build a basic web page in HTML.
- Keep data confidential and recognise common security risks.
ADCA course duration, batches and fees
IPA’s ADCA course lasts 6 months to 1 year. Where you land in that range depends on the modules you take and how many days a week you attend. You can study in the Laxmi Nagar classroom or online, in a weekday or weekend batch, at a morning or evening timing.
ADCA course fees at IPA
ADCA fees are not printed on this site, because the amount moves with the duration and the batch. A counsellor gives you the figure for your own plan and explains what it covers. What it depends on:
- Duration: anywhere from 6 months to 1 year, based on the modules you take.
- Batch and mode: weekday or weekend, morning or evening, classroom or live online.
- What is included: study material, the IPA certificate and placement assistance.
- How you pay: ask the counsellor whether instalments are available for your plan.
An offer running at the time can also change the fee. When you compare ADCA course fees with another institute, check the duration, the modules (Tally Prime, BUSY and typing practice included or extra) and whether placement help is in the price. Call or WhatsApp 9213855555, and book the free demo class while you are at it.
ADCA course near me
IPA teaches the advanced version of the DCA, ADCA, so you get the DCA basics and more in one diploma. Classes are held at E-54, 3rd Floor, Metro Pillar No. 44, Laxmi Nagar, a short walk from Laxmi Nagar metro station on the Blue Line. The centre is open every day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., so you can visit before you decide. Call 9213855555 to book a free demo class, or walk in and see the computer lab first. If you live further away, take ADCA through the live online batches described next.
ADCA online: live batches across India
ADCA is also taught online, in live classes led by an instructor that you can join from any city in India. The eight modules are the same as in the Laxmi Nagar classroom, and so are the trainers: Mr. Deepak for Excel and data work, and Mr. Santosh and Mr. Ravindar for Tally Prime and BUSY. Online students receive the same IPA certificate on completion. Classes run live on Zoom with recorded lectures on IPA’s own LMS, and weekday and weekend batches are available with flexible timings depending on your batch, which helps if you are still at school or college, or already working. Typing practice and software work need a laptop or desktop, not a phone, and your practice is guided by your instructor. Online students get placement support, and a free demo class is available. To enrol, send the enquiry form on this page or WhatsApp 9213855555. IPA’s online accounting courses page describes how the live classes are run.
DCA vs ADCA: which is which?
Here is how the two differ. DCA is the Diploma in Computer Application; ADCA is the Advanced Diploma in Computer Application. DCA is typically the shorter, more basic programme. ADCA is the advanced version and usually covers more software and more practice. Durations and syllabi for both vary by institute, so compare the module list, not just the name.
| DCA | ADCA | |
|---|---|---|
| Full form | Diploma in Computer Application | Advanced Diploma in Computer Application |
| Level | Basic computer skills | Broader, with more software and practice |
| Typical length | Usually shorter (varies by institute) | Usually longer (varies by institute); 6 months to 1 year at IPA |
| Accounting software | Often not included | Tally Prime and BUSY at IPA |
| A good fit if you | Only need computer basics and MS Office | Want office skills plus accounting software, HTML and data basics |
| At IPA | No separate DCA; see the modular computer course | Taught as one diploma |
Which certificate do you get? The ADCA diploma at IPA ends with IPA’s own institute certificate. It is not a NIELIT certificate, and IPA isn’t an accredited NIELIT O Level or CCC centre. If a job notice asks for one of those, you’ll need to take that exact certificate through NIELIT or an approved centre.
IPA runs ADCA, not a separate DCA. IPA’s ADCA takes in computer fundamentals, typing and data formatting, MS Office, internet and email, Tally Prime, BUSY, HTML basics, database basics and data security. If you want something shorter and more basic, look at IPA’s modular basic to advanced computer course.
ADCA jobs and salary in Delhi
ADCA leads to entry-level office roles: data entry operator, computer operator, office assistant, back-office executive and, using Tally and BUSY, accounts assistant or Tally operator in a small business. No survey tracks ADCA holders by name, so look at those job titles instead. On AmbitionBox, New Delhi data entry operators report roughly ₹19,000 to ₹21,500 a month (updated 24 September 2026), and Tally operators across India average about ₹2.2 lakh a year (updated 23 September 2026). In Delhi, the Labour Department’s order effective 1 April 2025 sets ₹22,411 a month as the minimum for a matriculate in clerical work, which is the figure to test a low offer against. For central government data entry posts, the SSC CHSL 2026 notice asks for 12th pass and a typing skill test.
Typing speed, accuracy and confidence in Excel and Tally move you up fastest. The diploma helps you get hired; it does not fix a salary. For government data entry posts and their pay levels, see the data entry course page.
How IPA teaches ADCA
Every module is practised on the computer. You learn a function, apply it to a real-style task such as a letter, an invoice or a sales sheet, and repeat until it is quick.
- Small batches, so beginners get help without feeling left behind.
- Flexible timing: weekday and weekend batches, with morning and evening timings, online or at the Laxmi Nagar centre.
- Faculty: IPA’s published faculty includes Mr. Deepak (M.Com, 20+ years, Excel and MIS) and Mr. Santosh and Mr. Ravindar (20+ years each in Tally and BUSY).
Two things set IPA’s ADCA apart. The accounting software modules are taught by trainers with more than 20 years of Tally and BUSY at an accounting institute, so voucher and invoice practice follows real small-business work. And the diploma is open after 10th with no entrance exam, with its duration, modules and placement terms stated on this page before you enrol.
ADCA vs IPA’s other computer courses
ADCA is the broadest single computer diploma at IPA. The modular computer course lets you pick only the modules you need; the data entry course is narrower and faster; Advanced Excel and Tally are single-skill courses. If your goal is an accounts job, an accounting diploma is the better fit.

ADCA is called a diploma, but it carries placement assistance, not the job guarantee: IPA supports ADCA students in finding entry-level work once they finish.
